A few months ago, Ren made an exciting discovery. He was at a training class across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall in Bridgewater, NJ. When he took a walk over to the mall at lunchtime, he noticed a new building under construction. It certainly looked like a restaurant, and when a worker saw Ren wondering what it was, he confirmed that it indeed was going to be a new Cheesecake Factory. Ren immediately texted a picture (you can see it below!) to Roy and then we both anxiously awaited for construction to be completed. You see, we’ve always enjoyed our dinners at various locations of the Cheesecake Factory, in NJ, NY, VA among others, AND we really like going to grand openings of restaurants!
So we waited. And waited. And waited. Then, one weekend, we just happened to call, and it just so happened that the next Monday was the grand opening. We set our calendars, set our watches, and got our appetites for food & fun all ready for that Monday!
We certainly weren’t disappointed!
One thing you have to be prepared for at the Cheesecake Factory, is a LOOOOOONG wait. Yes, they are usually so extremely popular, that you can easily have a 1+ hour wait. Well, we arrived just in time. Perhaps, since it was the grand opening, and it was a Monday, people didn’t realize it was open yet, because we only had to wait 1 or 2 minutes for our table. Yay us!
Our server for the evening was John. John was a blast! Even amidst the hustle & bustle of the first night of the restaurant, he was able to spend time chatting with us about everything from the stock market to Jersey Shore fist pumps! He was so knowledgeable about the Cheesecake Factory‘s extensive menu, he was able to guide us to some yummy choices from the over 200+ menu items!
Since we were celebrating the grand opening, we started with some Grey Goose Cosmopolitans. We’ve had some delicious drinks at other Cheesecake Factory locations, and this one did not disappoint! Yummy! Also, since we were very hungry, and wanted to get food in our tummies as soon as possible, we ordered two appetizers to share – Guacamole Made to Order and a Quesadilla. We had our own little Mexican Fiesta! During our appetizers, we made two new friends, Lori & her daughter, Ariel, sitting at the table next to us. They like to go to grand openings of restaurants too, and Lori also gave us lots of suggestions for future TwoSquirts restaurants, we will most certainly be checking out soon! Thanks Lori & Ariel!
So after delicious drinks & appetizers, and nice conversations with our new friends, it was time to eat! Yay! Mom had the Beef Ribs, with a side of Macaroni & Cheese. There were 6 savory, fall off the bone beef ribs! We volunteered to help her a bit on those ribs, so we can tell you first hand, how delicious they were!
We shared two dishes, so we could maximize the variety of food to tell you all about! First up, a Grilled Coulotte Steak. It was so tender and juicy, it just melted in our mouths! It was served with two jumbo deep fried onion rings (perfect amount to share a taste!) and some sauteed spinach, both muy delicioso! We ate the whole thing!
Next up was a Cheesecake Factory Favorite, the Crispy Chicken Costoletta. If you’ve never had this before, you should try it, you will be in for a treat! It is three chicken breasts, pounded flat, then breaded and lightly fried. Then, rather than topping them with sauce, they gently lay them on top of a delicious creamy lemon sauce, that you want to make sure to dip each and every bite into it! It is served with yummy red skinned mashed potatoes! We must admit, that we had eaten so much already, that we had to take some of our chicken to go, for lunch the next day!
Now, we were all completely stuffed. We know you are thinking, “How could they go to the grand opening of the Cheesecake Factory and not order cheesecake?” Well, John managed to twist our arms, (not that he had to twist them too hard) and we ordered a slice of Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake to go. We unfortunately don’t have a picture to show you, as it was no longer picture ready, after getting bumped & dropped on our way out of the restaurant, but it was still certainly yummy!
All in all, we had a wonderful time at the grand opening of the Cheesecake Factory in Bridgewater, NJ. We are sure if you go to any of the Cheesecake Factory‘s locations, you will have delicious food. The Bridgewater location, however, stands out by having excellent, extra-friendly service as well, inspiring us to write this TwoSquirts review, just for YOU!
As a added bonus, we even signed up John, Lori & Ariel, and also the manager, Mo for our TwoSquirts mailing list, using our new MailChimp App (Chimpadeedoo) on our iPad! (Hey – if you haven’t signed up, you always can, using the form on the right, or by clicking here!)
